Work/life Balance has been promoted as a critical strategy for organisations for almost a decade. During this time support for promoting work/life balance has waxed and waned. Proponents cite increased productivity, easier recruitment through 'employer of choice' status, and higher retention rates as benefits. Detractors highlight the low take up rate of work/life balance initiatives, the cost involved, and increased management time required.
